29/04/2011 – Royal Wedding Street Party

The street party was a great success.  Fun and games were  had by all. We kicked off with pass the parcel and music in the street, after that the children went on to make royal crowns.
Then Bouncy Castle was enjoyed not only by the children may I add.

After all their energy was used it was time for food and drink. The Mayor of Hyndburn visited, and gave use a wonderful speech.  Then all the children got into our Balloon Launch our Winner was Ben Wright who was presented with a certificate and a £20.00 Argos voucher
In 2nd place was Aaron McDonald who also was presented with a
certificate and a large chocolate Bar and lucky bag.
All the other children of VICS were presented with runners up
certificates and a chocolate bar.

The rest of the day continued with a egg and spoon race, piñata, not to forget our clown John who made every possible shape of balloon, and our face painter Justin.
there was also a tombola and raffle which we raised £180 on the day.
The day ended with a royal cup souvenir presentation to all children
And music god save the queen with all our tired parents and
children waving their flags.

I would like to thank everyone who helped make the day a very special day to remember for all our children and parents.
Special thank you to Rob Walsh who stayed up almost all night preparing the road closure and buntings etc , and to Maureen and Barry Dawson my parents who stayed up til past 2am the night before with me to organise everything.
And to David Mcmullan who helped set everything out with help again from Rob Walsh on the morning of the party.
